Charcoal9x12This is drawn after Heidi Slimane's gorgeous photo of Peter Doherty. It was a good practice with my charcoal, for sure. It's always best to use grey paper for charcoal, or, if that isn't possible, to lay down a layer of branch charcoal and use the subtractive method. You will always have more deeply realistic portraits that way.
