The Leaning Woman

2016-06 / Saint Petersburg, Russia

This tomb just looked like something out of a Shakespearean play to me. There is longing and music in the woman and nobility and distance in the bust of the deceased. The sculptures in this necropolis (in the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in Saint-Petersburg, Russia) are some of the best and biggest that I've ever seen. Amazing attention to detail and to make them all so close to life size is impressive. When I go back to Saint-Petersburg, I will definitely visit again. It's so worth it.
