Reverse

Charcoal 18x24 This drawing was done in reverse. I started with the medium grey of charcoal sticks and erased to create the highlights and darkened the shadows with a block of condensed charcoal. It's really the most realistic way to create a charcoal portrait. It's also incredibly messy (which I think of as an added bonus).
